DASTAN Foundation
DASTAN Foundation, a Non-for-Profit organization registered in Australia (ABN 34 789 627 512), was established for charitable purposes aimed at enhancing science and education in Iran. The foundation supports excellence and innovation in research, with a particular emphasis on environmental science, artificial intelligence, and renewable energies as well as social science and the humanities. The inaugural Dastan Research Grant is focused on environmental issues in Iran and intends to fund research in relevant areas of environmental science, including its natural and social aspects. Dastan hopes to enable outstanding young intellects studying at Iranian universities of high academic reputation to conduct research with a real-world problem-solving focus. DASTAN's STORY
A sense of urgency to advance science in developing countries, and Iran in particular, planted the seeds of an idea to start a foundation to help fund scientific research in Iran. Today, with lots of effort and work, our vision has come to reality as DASTAN foundation.
DASTAN is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). The foundation’s goal is to enhance research and education by funding innovative Ph.D. and early career research that can potentially make a difference and a real-world impact.
DASTAN Foundation provides grants to support a range of higher education research projects. The inaugural DASTAN Research Grant would be focused on environmental science and climate change. As environmental issues such as global warming and drought threaten to cause irreversible damage to Iran’s nature and its people, DASTAN wishes to support researchers who can provide feasible solutions to current environmental concerns.
Being an exclusively charitable all-volunteer non-profit foundation with an educational mission, DASTAN is proudly run by a community of unpaid volunteers who share a concern for education and scientific development. We raise funds for scientific research, environmental protection, and education through public donations and fundraising events. Exactly 100% of these donations go directly to DASTAN Grants Program.

DASTAN Foundation knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by but most importantly, through the actions of our initiatives. Our Non-Profit Organization realized that by working together, we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch DASTAN Foundation. Our vision is to consider science and research as the utmost propulsive force of a society. By putting science first, we can reach the highest peaks of technology and humanity, which will ultimately lead us to a better and brighter future.
OUR MISSION
Here at DASTAN Foundation, we are committed to investing our expertise and resources in order to further achieve our cause. Our mission is to support high-level PhD projects being conducted in Iran in a variety of ways such as research grants, prizes and scholarships. We have been measuring our success not by monetary size, but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts. Just imagine what we can achieve together!
